RSIC2026 Keynote Speakers
Our Keynote Speakers for the RSIC2026 will share different perspectives on our Conference theme “Visions of the Future from an Ancient Land,” and invite us to explore how we can draw wisdom from the past as we look to the future.

Throughout the Conference it is our hope that every student and teacher delegate will be inspired by what connects us, excited by what is possible and empowered to help create a future filled with hope.

Together, our speakers will explore the many stories, traditions and perspectives that have shaped the nation we know today, while encouraging us to look forward with hope and confidence.

Their collective message will remind us that, although we face different challenges in our lives, communities and across the world, we also share a responsibility and an opportunity to imagine and build a better future.

Sir Peter Cosgrove
One of Australia’s most distinguished military and civic leaders. After serving in Malaysia, Vietnam, and as commander of the East Timor peacekeeping mission, he rose to become Chief of the Australian Defence Force. Following his retirement from the military in 2005, he served as Australia’s Governor-General from 2014 to 2019 and continues to contribute through charitable, veteran, and community organisations, including national commemorative and disaster recovery initiatives.
Lisa Sthalekar
A former Barker College student, Lisa is one of Australia’s most celebrated cricketers. Representing Australia from 2001 to 2013, she was a member of four World Cup-winning teams and became the first woman to score over 1,000 runs and take 100 wickets in international cricket. Since retiring, she has remained a prominent voice and leader in the game through commentary, coaching, mentoring, and governance roles, including serving as President of the World Cricketers’ Association.
Benson Saulo
A distinguished Indigenous Australian leader and author who has held senior roles in diplomacy, economic development, and higher education. The first Indigenous Australian appointed as a Consul-General, he now serves as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at Flinders University and is widely recognised for his work advancing Indigenous empowerment, global partnerships, and social impact.
Samantha Gash
An endurance athlete, entrepreneur, and global speaker, Founder and CEO of Her Trails, a global community focused on resilience, wellbeing, and purposeful movement. After leaving a career in corporate law, she gained international recognition for running 3,500 kilometres across India to explore barriers to education for women and girls. Today, she inspires individuals and organisations through her leadership, immersive experiences, and keynote presentations, helping people build courage, confidence, and the mindset to achieve their potential.
